Conventional systems give a basic zone-based alarm and are ideal for small and medium buildings (up to 32 zones). Addressable systems show the exact location of the fire, can be programmed with location names, and run on a single 2-core loop that cuts installation cost in larger buildings. Each loop is monitored every few seconds to keep the whole building protected.
